Blade Department is the vision of Josh, a lifelong hockey and skating enthusiast who spent years running the pro shop and serving the local skating community. After managing Ultimate Skate & Hockey, Josh decided to open his own shop, and Blade Department was born.
Located right inside LA Kings Ice at Palos Verdes Promenade, we are the go-to spot for skaters across the South Bay. Whether you are a seasoned player lacing up for league night or a parent getting your kid fitted for their first pair of skates, we are here to help.

Ultimate Skate & Hockey Pro Shop is worth the drive for us. The staff is always friendly and helpful. Never once did the staff try to up-sell us with our daughter's ice skates and blades. Josh & James are the best and worth their weight in gold!

Probably the best hockey pro shop I've ever been. Everyone there is very knowledgeable in hockey and hockey equipment. I've been helped by a few different employees there and a couple I can think of would be Ryan, Josh, Austin, and some other Asian dude and they were all very helpful. I'd give this place a 10 star review if I could. The last time I was there I got a skate sharpening and felt like I upped my speed by 10%. I had one of the guys tape my stick and boom, I was dangling everyone at my game and made every shot on goal. Love this place.
